Cancer Research UK Patient Information

Cancer Research are the world’s leading charity dedicated to saving lives through research. They have saved millions of people lives by helping to discover new and innovative ways of preventing, treating and diagnosing cancer. It’s been well known that the UK cancer treatment and cancer prevention should be among the best in the world. A few ways in which this has been made possible is by educating people on ways to reduce their cancer risk. Smoking is a major cause of cancer. Cancer Research played a significantly role when it came to implementing the legislation for smoking in public places, since then The UK has 1 Million fewer smokers . Cancer Research aim is to ensure that there will be better treatments and the treatments will have fewer side effects.  More people are now surviving cancer thanks to cancer research. Since the 1970’s the survival rate has doubled.

The campaign video by Cancer Research explains how two patients used the web page www.canceresearchuk.org to help answer some of the questions they had. The web site is incredibly useful for cancer patients as many patients are not able to get in touch with their General practitioner, or their nurse who specialises in that area.
